Step 3: Create a Design Template

Before you proceed to generate an API key, you need to create a design template. A design template defines the elements and layout of the images you wish to generate using the Imagior API.

How to Create a Design Template

Access the Dashboard

From the sidebar, click on Home to go to the main dashboard page.

Create a New Design

In the Your Designs section, click on the “Create A Design” button to start designing a new template.

Designing Your Template

  1. Name Your Template: Provide a meaningful name for your design that reflects its purpose.

  2. Add Elements: Use the visual editor to add and customize elements like text, images, shapes, or logos. You can adjust properties such as size, color, and position to match your requirements.

  3. Save Your Template: Once you’re satisfied with your design, click the “Save” button to store it. Your new design template will now appear under the Your Designs section.

Note: After saving your design, take note of the ID of the design. You can find this ID in the dashboard or by clicking “Get Code” at the top of the editor. The “Get Code” option provides sample code snippets in popular programming languages and also allows you to copy the ID and body of the template you created.

The body of the template is optional. If you do not provide it when making API requests, no modifications will be made to the design. If you include the body, you can dynamically update elements such as text, colors, or images in the template.

Why You Need a Design Template

Creating a design template is at the heart of how Imagior works. A design template defines the visual structure and elements of your images, such as text, logos, shapes, or backgrounds. Once you’ve created a template, you can use it to dynamically generate and edit images in bulk, saving time and effort.

The primary idea behind Imagior is to provide a flexible, scalable way to create and manage visual content. By setting up templates, you can automate the production of images for various purposes, whether it’s social media graphics, marketing materials, personalized ads, or product images.

  • Automate Image Generation: Design templates allow you to automate the process of creating consistent images. Instead of manually designing each image, you can use the template as a blueprint to generate images in bulk, applying the same layout and styles across all visuals.

  • Edit in Bulk: Once you have a template, you can easily make changes to multiple images at once. For example, update a logo, change a color scheme, or adjust text dynamically across hundreds or thousands of images through the API or no-code integrations like Zapier.

  • Integrate with No-Code Tools: Imagior supports integrations with platforms like Zapier, enabling you to create workflows that trigger image generation or updates without writing a single line of code. This is perfect for marketing teams, content creators, or businesses that need to scale their visual content production.

  • Leverage the API: For developers, Imagior’s API allows you to programmatically control the image creation process, enabling deeper integration with your own applications, websites, or content management systems.

By leveraging design templates, you can maintain a consistent brand style, reduce the workload for your team, and quickly adapt to new campaigns or changes. This flexibility and scalability are the core strengths of Imagior, empowering you to produce high-quality visual content more efficiently.
